A Few Words About Us
Founded in 1770 by Shri Benl Singh Ju Deo, Maihar was originally a Chandela fort from the 14th century, showcasing Bundelkhand architecture. The fort, with two sections (Moti Mahal and Hathi Mahal), spans 834,850.4 sqft, housing over 300 rooms. Extended in the 20th century by Maharaja Brijnath Singh Ju Deo, the palace blends eastern and western styles, featuring Italian marble, Burma teak, and a 100ft-high Darbar Hall with canvas paintings by Shri T.K. Mitra. The palace also includes a music room for the renowned Maihar Gharana and a garden with a lake, home to diverse bird species.
